Firefly is the Title V Maternal Health provider for Cass, Harrison, Ida, Mills, Monona, Pottawattamie, Shelby, and Woodbury counties.
Healthy Pregnancy Visits
Firefly offers prenatal nursing visits and social work support for pregnant individuals. These visits are focused on the health of the pregnant person and creating a healthy home environment prepared for the baby to come to. In the postpartum period, nursing and social work visits focus on both newborn care and care of the pregnant person. The visits include assessment, discussion, and education to promote a healthy mom and baby with topics including infant feeding and oral health, recognizing illness, safe sleep practices, hygiene, well-child care, family planning, maternal physical changes, etc. Breastfeeding education, support, and encouragement are crucial in the postpartum period, which is a focal point during the visits. Early, regular, and complete health care before and during a pregnancy improves chances of having a healthy baby! Call or text Victoria at (712) 828-2135 to schedule a healthy pregnancy visit.
